Integrated solutions bring corporate event to life

LISBON, Portugal – Portugal’s event provider Europalco has once again leveraged Christie® integrated solutions to redefine the standards of corporate event production with a spectacular synchronized multi-projection display for the annual meeting of Millennium BCP, Portugal’s largest private bank, held at Lisbon’s Carlos Lopes Pavilion.

DCE Loving Brands agency organized and created the employee recognition-themed event, which was integrated into all levels of production for the approximately 1,600 people in attendance. Europalco provided a wide range of services, which included sound, lighting, video, cameras, automation, kinetic elements, stage set-up, and furniture.

A gigantic 60 x 8-meter (197 x 26-foot) main screen divided into three sections (each 20 x 8 meters) served as the focal point of the stage. Supported by 12 Christie 30,000 lumen, 4K 3DLP® projectors, a Christie Spyder X80 image processor, and Christie Pandoras Box® Servers for show control, the projection was synchronized with the movement of the screens, to create a dynamic backdrop for discussions and performances.

Europalco designed the central section of the display with innovative functionality. It could be raised and lowered according to the needs of the event using Movecat C1 technology controlled by the I Motion Expert T III SIL3 controller, which was connected to Pandoras Box Servers to synchronize the position of the display and video layers.

Europalco cleverly integrated a 20 meter by 6-meter (65 x 20-foot) LED wall behind the main screen. This secondary display further enriched the visual experience, and provided extra flexibility for content delivery and enhanced the overall depth and dimensionality of the scenography.

The result was an impressive and constantly moving display onto which videos and CCTV of the event were projected, and moved to give way to shows and discussions on stage.

“At Europalco we like to take risks, and to surprise and surpass ourselves,” says Pedro Magalhães, CEO, Europalco. “We always propose something that makes each project special. In this case, it was the giant moving screen that gave enormous dynamism to the event, and produced a wow effect among the attendees.”

He concludes, “It wasn't easy to light and manage the millions of pixels of 4K content on moving screens, so we relied on Christie’s most powerful projection, processing and show control tools, which were once again up to the task thanks to their strength and reliability.”
