The Ever-Expanding MXnet Universe

The Ever-Expanding MXnet Universe

May 31, 2024 - As AVPro forges a broader global footprint, MXnet ecosystems expand exponentially in like kind. Each of the three MXnet tiers continues to grow with added SKUs designed to enhance the inherent versatility MXnet offers integrators and their clients.

As more integrators discover how to harness the advantages of Audinate’s Dante uncompressed, multi-channel, low-latency networked digital audio, it was only a matter of time before Audinate partner AVPro followed up Dante’s MXnet premier in the AC-MXNET-10G TCVR-PRO by incorporating it into the MXnet 1G ecosystem. MXnet 1G Evolution II was chosen for Dante implementation, debuting the AC-MXNET-1G-DANTE-EV2 encoder and AC-MXNET-1G-DANTE-DV2 decoder in early April. The duo combines to transport the enhanced AV-o-IP quality of MXnet Evolution II along with Dante audio through a single network to joint destination endpoints. Traveling over an MXnet EVO II system deployed using LC duplex SMF fiber, Dante can transcend its 100-meter limitation, leapfrogging to distances as great as 10 kilometers (6.21 miles).

Also launched in early April was the AC-MXNET-1G-EV2WP, a transformer-free, PoE-powered wall plate-style version of the MXnet 1G EVO II encoder. All the chassis-based unit performance is retained while designed for a flush fit into a standard NEMA double-gang wall box. Yet, creative, customized placement options such as desktops, lecterns, and traditional low-profile in-wall mounting are offered.

In February, or what the nearly two dozen excellent folks in our St. Petersburg, Florida Tier Two Tech Support office refer to as Spring (the nerve!), we introduced the AC-MXNET-10G-SW24C. Developed and manufactured by AVPro, this 10 Gbps hybrid, PoE+/PoE++ network switch is built to a Carrier-Grade rating. We take your requirements for mission-criticality and high reliability seriously. Our engineers focused on pre-configured Quality of Service settings optimized for Dante and SDVoE streams, resulting in dramatic reductions in point-to-point latency and data packet losses, along with easy deployment and switch management. As the industry’s only AV-o-IP full-line manufacturer, our network switches are designed for plug-and-play operation with MXnet, even when double-stacked! Virtual Switch Framework mode enables a pair of AC-MXNET-10G-SW24Cs to operate as a singular switch via AVPro Edge’s proprietary, cutting-edge MXnet MENTOR management software.

It has not yet been released, but the AC-MXNET-SW12, a network switch outfitted with eight PoE+ ports and four 10 Gbps SFP+ ports to enable 1G network switch expansion or stacking, will soon be available. Ideal as a stand-alone small system switch, it is also perfect as a stackable add-on unit to our 24-port and 48-port switches, providing a flexible, lower-cost extension option for planned or emergency system expansion.

A sneak peek of the AC-MXNET-SW12

The AC-MV-41 Multi-viewer, introduced in March, is a fun piece of kit that is a perfect add-on to any MXnet system. Bring the sports bar home! Eastern Conference, Western Conference, NBA, NHL…all on a single screen? Just imagine the Olympics! AC-MV-41 is Control4 driver-ready. Install one and turn a client into a lifelong friend (not to mention a place to watch all the games!).

We have had a busy Spring, er, whatever you want to call it, but we are far from sitting on our hands! Observe a handful of engineers in an AVPro or AudioControl breakroom, and what might look like chaos from afar is, quite simply, poetry in motion. As Al Jolson said about the “talkies” – you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!
