Description

A growing congregation of UK houses of worship venues have sought to invest in their AV offering to deliver an enhanced experience, and bolster multimedia possibilities for community events. Creative Audiovisual Solutions Ltd (CAVS) has been tasked with integrating a trio of houses of worships seeking to upgrade their audiovisual technology with unobtrusive installations, utilising Christie’s 3LCD range of projectors to deliver high image quality and excellent value.

“Integrating technology into houses of worship is a challenging but rewarding undertaking, and something we take great pride in,” says Rob Alvis, Sales Director, CAVS. “Whilst each install is different, our approach is to maximise the level of technical capability within a system, while working with the church aesthetics and décor to deliver a subtle and intuitive system within budget. We have regularly used Christie projectors in our projects, as we feel they deliver a strong balance of performance, reliability, connectivity and value - perfect for this market.”

At St James’ Trowbridge, CAVS was tasked with integrating modern AV technology into the traditional parish church which dates back to the 15th century. Three Christie projectors were used to project onto three screens to the left, right and centre of the grade 1 listed building. All screens have been winched to allow them to be hidden behind the building’s arches when not in use. Projector screens are used for displaying hymn lyrics, still images, video, and even live footage from the church to magnify the image for those sat far away. All operating equipment is housed within a bespoke console - utilising old pews to blend into the Church’s décor. An HD motorised camera with recording and streaming capability was also installed to capture services and events and to provide long term system development potential.

The parish church at Christ Church, Radlett faced many of the dilemmas facing most traditional parish Churches - requiring an effective multi-media system, whilst ensuring the least aesthetic impact on the Church building. CAVS again designed a system which used a motorised winched projection screen (able to be hidden behind the arch when not in use) with a Christie projector and flexible input and output connectivity. This connectivity allows for multiple laptop/device inputs around the building along with multiple HDMI connections for monitors, serving musicians and service leaders. A touch panel at the main console negates the need for multiple remote controls to operate the system - making projector and screen operation straightforward.

In a further project, The Salvation Army, Staines commissioned CAVS to update its ageing audio-visual system, this time in a more modern building. A new console was made and houses the latest digital mixing console, HD visual mixer/missing system and a new LED lighting desk. Christie’s 3LCD projectors were again used to power the main displays, with left, right and rear screens ensuring excellent visibility for all visitors. Thanks to HDMI connectivity, the system is able to relay to auxiliary rooms and recording/online streaming.

Christie’s affordable and reliable 3LCD range now includes the DS Series and the APS Series, which are both available in a range of brightness and resolution options to suit the requirements of a project. All projectors are backed by its industry-leading warranties, support and training.
