A veneered version of Arthur Holm’s foldable and rotatable aluminium monitor Dynamic3 has been installed in Qatar Foundation´s headquarters meeting room
For its main meeting room, Qatar Foundation chose the rotatable Dynamic3, veneered with wood. All the monitors are remotely controlled and they provide a uniform, streamlined and elegant furniture finish.
Built entirely of aluminium and black edged anti-glare glass, the Dynamic3 monitors offer discreet and timeless design. The anodised finish provides a soft, silky effect, is extremely resilient and also serves to dissipate heat. The glass protects the screen, reduces “mirror” effect, allows for natural transparent colour and can work as a touch surface. The Dynamic3 range provides excellent contrast and unsurpassed viewing angles. Integration into furniture is extremely simple.
The back of the monitor can be covered with different materials, such as wood, allowing a uniform table finish when the screen is folded. The system is unique not only in terms of aesthetics but also in terms of functionality; the screen rises and leans, has an additional 180° rotation movement, and retracts inside the work surface in two different positions, with the monitor oriented up or down. The touchscreen can be used in a completely flat position, flush with the work surface. Its sophisticated electronics automatically detects the screen position, orienting the image accordingly. If the sensors detect resistance, the movement is stopped to protect the user. The screen’s lifting system automatically activates the elevation of an aluminium tray that is used as a working space.
Early in 1995, His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Amir, shared a vision with Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser while sitting under a tent at Umm Qrayba farm. Together, they conceived a plan for the future development of their country that would provide Qatari citizens with a greater choice in education, health and social progress than ever before. They then set about turning this dream into reality and, in August that year, founded Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, right in the very heart of Qatar.
Today, Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is a private, non-profit organization that serves the people of Qatar by supporting and operating programs in three core mission areas: education, science and research, and community development. The Foundation strives to nurture the future leaders of Qatar. By example and by sharing its experience, the Foundation also contributes to human development nationally, regionally, and internationally. In all of its activities, the Foundation promotes a culture of excellence in Qatar and furthers its role in supporting an innovative and open society that aspires to develop sustainable human capacity, social, and economic prosperity for a knowledge-based economy.
